Technology Council of Southern California Names Recipients of Annual Technology Industry Awards
TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 29 2008
PRNewswire-USNewswire — This evening the Technology Council of Southern California hosted its 14th annual Technology Industry Awards gala honoring individuals and companies that played a significant role in advancing Southern California as a center for technological innovation over the past year. The event, held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, was attended by more than 300 of the region's technology industry leaders.
From many applicants, 23 individuals and companies were honored as finalists for the eight award categories, which were presented at the event.
This year's award recipients are:
Entrepreneur of the Year - Tim Vanderhook, Specific Media
Software Company of the Year - Citrix Online
Hardware & Storage Company of the Year - QLogic Corp.
Network & Security Company of the Year - 8e6 Technologies
Internet & New Media Company of the Year - HireRight, Inc
Entertainment & Gaming Company of the Year - K2 Network
Mobile & Communications Company of the Year - Networks In Motion, Inc
Product of the Year - Alelo Inc.
This year's ceremony included a keynote speech by AlwaysOn.
Founder, CEO and Editor-in-Chief Tony Perkins that highlighted recent advancements in technology and offered astute observations on the future. The Tech Council also honored George Klaus, executive chairman of Epicor Software Corporation (http://www.epicor.com/Pages/default.aspx), with a Lifetime Achievement Award and Jim McCluney, CEO of Emulex Corporation (http://www.emulex.com/), who was named CEO of the Year.
